If you are traveling from now through May, be sure to check out the sight seeing Whale Tours. Vallarta Adventures offers many great tours at reasonable prices. This is a must for all. This is also Dolphin season. We are often able to see dolphins feeding off shore in the early morning from our balcony, Villa 1302. You can also get at the beach a free us of there sea kayaks and paddle right up close to the dolphins feeding. Incredible.

Well, the weather is starting to change and people are really starting to think about a warm sunny beach to go to for vacation this year. Look no futher that Villa La Estancia. Our villa 1302 is just the place. A 5 star resort with all the amenities. Visit us at www.VillaLaEstanciaOceanfront.com

Here's a tip. If you don't want to eat all your meals out while staying at our villa and save some money, head to the Mega Market. We've walked to it from our resort. About 20 minutes and took a taxi back. Taxi ride is about $5 and takes just minutes. This is a great store with anything you would need. The locals shop here and you US dollars go much further. And with our full kitchen you can cook just about anything. We enjoy making breakfast in the morning and sitting out on the balcony enjoying the ocean views. It's a great way to start your day.

We hear it time and time again. Brad & Joey, the pictures of your place look wonderful, but to see it in person was breathtaking.

As people enjoy graduations and warming weather in the US and Canada, they sometimes forget about how wonderful Mexico can be during the early summer months. The weather is balmy and tropical and the crowds are low. This, in our opinion is some of the best times to stay at our villa at Estancia. Since there is lower demand, our rates are lower. However, you still get everything that other guests get during the busy and pricier Winter and Spring times.

You get everything for less money. Even the local restaurants offer better deals.

So, if you are looking for a nice beach get away and want to save a lot of money, contact us for a summer get away to our villa 1302

Horseback riding on the Beach!!! Estancia Style

Joey and our daughter in law, Sara, just returned from a quick 5 night stay at our villa 1302 at Villa La Estancia. They walked into Bucerias for lunch one day and were able to enjoy a horseback ride along the beach back to Estancia! It's easy to do. On the beaches of Bucerias there are locals with horses for hire. About $20 each. He rides along side of you and your horses to make sure everything is okay. You don't need to know how to ride a horse either. Just hop on and let him guide you.

For those of you thinking of staying at Estancia during Christmas and New Year's, all we can suggest is that you hurry. Villas are booking up quickly this year.

Villa La Estancia Keeps Getting Better

We returned from our villa just a few weeks ago and can't wait to get back down there. Construction has been completed now for two years and people are starting to really discover how special this resort is.

Although you could still find a lounge chair by the pool, it was nice to see that the resort was nearly 80% booked during our stay in March.

What we really like about Estancia is they continue to improve things from menu items to services to activities. They won't leave perfect alone and we love that. They don't need to improve a thing, but they do.

The weather was a perfect 83 degrees every day. We stocked up our pantry for guest to use essentials during the summer and into Fall. We will probably go back again in April and June.

Evening Dinner Tip - Villa La Estancia, Nuevo Vallarta

One night on our last trip we decided to spend the entire evening at the resort, which we do most evenings since there are some many dining options. PS, this is a recipe for a great evening whether you are a couple by themselves, with another couple or with your whole family.

At around 5:30pm head on down to the pool area near the beach. Happy hour is from 5-6pm. Mingle with others while you take in the wonderful view. You can also go next door to the Flamingos where they have nice white couches to sit on beach side with an outdoor bar.

Check in at Bella Vista restaurant right there and see if you can get an outdoor patio rail table. That evening, around 6:30, while enjoying a glass of wine and the sun was starting to set, we watched a couple whales off in the distance surface. Spectacular! We ordered a fabulous shrimp ceviche appetizer.

From there we headed back over to Villa La Estancia to La Cosona restaurant. Joey and I shared a filet mignon/Beef Tenderloin Medallion with a side of asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes. Out of this world. We actually had left overs and heated them up the next morning in our room with some eggs.

From there we went back to the room to change into our bathing suits and went to the hot tub which is almost on the beach where we met two other couples, one from Canada and the other from Chicago.

Now that's how to spend an evening at Villa La Estancia, Nuevo Vallarta!

Updates from our January visit-Villa La Estancia

Joey and I had a wonderful 7 night stay in our villa in mid January. On this trip we were a little more active and explored some new great places. We now walk to the Mega grociery store which is about a 20-25 minute walk from Villa La Estancia, bought our goods for the villa and took a $6 taxi back. The mornings have been nice, about 65 degrees, sunny and perfect for walking.

We also walked multiple times into Bucerias for shopping and eating lunch/dinner. We discovered an incredible Italian restaurant called Mezzagiorno. Right on the beach, incredible views and the best italian food. The prices were also very reasonable. Here is a link to their website with photos and menu. Mezzagiorno Restaurant

We also took a $11 taxi ride over to La Cruz. They have now completed their new marina and we wanted to go check it out. They are still building condos and buildings around the marina and once finished it will be a fantastic place. The marina has many large yachts that are fun to admire while you sit on the second floor open air marina restaurant and enjoy a drink and lunch. Very reasonable prices too. This area of La Cruz is still developing, but will soon become quite a destination.

We watched the NFL playoff games at a sports bar called Yo-Yo Mo's in Bucerias. Great pizza, burgers, wings, etc. The TV's all broadcast Canadian TV, so you'll also be able to enjoy your NHL games.

We had an opportunity to meet a few guests that we assisting in getting into one of our friend's villas. We get emails all the time from folks writing us how wonderful the resort and villas are. But it is especially thrilling for us to see them at the resort and how excited and pleased they are that they chose Villa La Estancia.

Early January rains

Apparently the unusual rains that fell in Vallarta in early/mid January has caused a little issue with mosquitos. Not swarms of them or anything ugly, just people getting a few bites during their stay.

Although the issue may be gone in the next week or two, if you are heading down there, you might want to bring some OFF wipes with you just to be safe.

PS. For some reason, they mainly bite the lower leg area of people. Don't know why.

We have never seen it rain in January in Vallarta so that was very odd and we've almost never had a mosquito bite in the past 4 years of visiting Villa La Estancia, Nuevo Vallarta

Remember it is now whale watching season and it runs into late March. During this time, on many mornings, you can eat breakfast on our oceanfront balcony and see dolphins and sometimes whales. Spanish Phrases to Learn Before You Go to Mexico
If you don't speak any Spanish at all, don't worry, many people who work in the tourist industry in Mexico speak English. However, any effort on your part to speak Spanish will go a long way towards creating a rapport between you and the Mexicans you meet. You don't have to take an intensive course - these few phrases will communicate the most important things you need to say.

Mexicans tend to be quite formal when it comes to greetings. A simple "hola" is fine among friends, but in other situations, you should change the form you use depending on the time of day.
• Before noon: Buenos días (Good morning, Good day)
• From noon until dark: Buenas tardes (Good afternoon)
• At night: Buenas noches (Good evening, Good night)

Most of the staff at Villa La Estancia speak English, but we try to use the little Spanish we know when we can. It's fun!

Well it's official. Villa La Estancia, Nuevo Vallarta is completely booked for New Years. Our villa 1302, has been booked for many months. Viva Villa La Estancia!!!

We are amazed at how many folks are still trying to book New Years at Estancia this late in the year. For those interested in booking our villa for next New Years, please try to contact us during the summer of 2010. And remember, if we are booked, we have fellow owners that have us help them rent their villa for them. We'll be sure to get you the best villas available.

We are hearing, as expected, that Nuevo Vallarta is the new hot spot in all of Mexico. The resorts are newer and beaches are excellent.

The lastest news from the World Health Organization says you are more likely to catch Swine flu in the US than in Mexico.

The staff at Villa La Estancia are amazed that there is any concern from travelers to Nuevo and Puerto Vallarta. Swine flu just doesn't exist.

Joey and I are preparing for our next trip to our oceanfront villa at Villa La Estancia, Nuevo Vallarta. Villa 1302.

We have been shopping here in the US for new things to bring down to our villa to always make it a little bit better for our guests and us of course. We are trying to find new games to put in the pantry that our guests would enjoy. Also trying to find more little toys for guests that have little ones. People as us where most of our guests come from. Canada and the US are where the majority of our guests come from, but we have had guests from Japan, Sweden and Germany.

We've updated our recommendations for places to eat since our last trip. Please try Meson Bay for dinner in Bucerias. You must try the avacado stuffed with large shrimp. It is out of this world and very inexpensive.

Villa La Estancia is still rated the #1 resort in Nuevo Vallarta and for good reason. You just can't find a more luxurious resort in the area. It is truly the best. And the rooms are over 2000 sf. All the villa are very well appointed as is ours, however, ours is the closest 2 bedroom/3 bath villa to the ocean. It is a true oceanfront villa within a fabulous resort.

Our favorite food at Villa La Estancia? Too many to really list, but we love our chicken quesadilla poolside along side chips and guacamole. The ribs are fantastic and burgers don't dissapoint. Next door the Pizza bar is some of the best thin crust pizza ever. And of course all the restaurants on site have very nice dinner menus.

The Villa Group informs on travel plans
The Villa Group wishes to advise individuals with existing reservations who may be considering changes to their travel plans that they may do so without incurring any penalties from any of The Villa Group properties.
The Villa Group is closely monitoring the recent swine flu outbreak in Mexico and has taken all appropriate steps to ensure the safety and health of all resort guests and employees. The Villa Group resort destination properties in Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, and Nuevo Vallarta/Rviera Nayarit are not within close proximity to Mexico State where the outbreaks hace occurred. No cases have been reported in any of the aforementioned destinations and the Villa Group is working closely with local authorities to take all necessary precautions to minimize exposure to the virus.
The Villa Group adheres to strict food handling and safety guidelines and will do everything required to ensure that the resort destinations remain un-affected, The reported influenza is taking place in Mexico City and has not spread to any of the resort destinations.
Although the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Center for Disease Control (CDC), as well as the U.S. State Department, have said that there was no need for U.S. travelers to change, restrict or alter their plans to travel to Mexico, individuals with existing reservations considering changes to their travel plans, may do so without incurring any penalties from any of the Villa Group properties.
